I've been working on Debbie Bliss's Broken Rib Cardigan. It's going really fast since it's knitted up on size 13 needles. Excited to get it finished so I can wear it before the winter is gone.

The gray skies around here have finally let up a bit, and I've been able to get some nice natural light to photograph some amazing new items for the shop. I totally heart the mod tray and kitschy doe above. The Enid Collins box bag was a major score and I'm so glad that I can offer it for sale in the shop!

washing, folding & organizing

I'm slowly getting my studio in order! I've been washing, folding and organizing all my fabrics in anticipation of reopening Kitsch Café Handmade. I will be offering handmade items using vintage fabrics and vintage paper ephemera. There will also be vintage crafting supplies including fat quarters and by the yard of a lot of the fabric you see above.

Dear, France Gall

Please transport me back to 1960s Paris so I can hang out with you. We'd shop for fun 60s clothing and hang out in cafés all afternoon. I'd also listen to you sing your totally 60s, fun, bubble gum pop songs, like Sacré Charlemagne.

It'd be a lot of fun, I just know it. And just between you and me, I think we'd end up being BFFs, too.

finished

I finally finished the cabled cardigan I was knitting! The verdict: LOVE. IT. It fits me really well. In fact, I think it is the best fitting/most wearable sweater I've knitted.

I started knitting this bad boy in June on a trip to Texas. I put it away when my schedule became hectic, then got it back out a few months ago.

This was also my first time sewing buttons on to a knitted garment... I think it went fairly well.

The success of this cardigan makes me excited to finish my next project... another chunky cardigan using a broken rib stitch and thick brown yarn.

I'm in the middle of cleaning and organizing my studio. I've rediscovered some amazing vintage fabrics that were buried under other amazing vintage fabrics. Can't wait to get the Kitsch Café Handmade shop open again and start creating all sorts of amazing things.
