Wow, I can't wait to get the winter issue of Vogue Knitting. So glad to see some patterns for nicely designed men's sweaters, for once. I want to make the vest for myself in green and the stripy cardigan for a friend.

Loving these vintage fabrics I found while thrifting the other day. Can't wait to whip them up in to some throw pillows and fabric covered journals!

I made these pillows for a Christmas gift for my sister. I hand knit the larger one and made the smaller one out of a thrifted sweater.

I'm happy with how they turned out, although I wish I would have rounded the corners of the smaller one since they look a bit wonky. Oh well, I think they still look good.

Loving this idea from Marie Claire Idees... print out an image on printable ink jet fabric then sew it up in to a small pouch! Trés cool.

Ohio recently released a new, incredibly ugly, license plate designed by... the governor's wife.

I'm going to assume she has no prior graphic design experience based on how ugly it is. Fortunately, they have stopped production and the older, slightly less ugly plates will stay.

I started digging around for other plates and here are my faves. I think simple is best.

flying turtle

I stumbled upon the Flying Turtle in a gift guide and had to share...

It's basically a large tractor-shaped seat with a handlebar. You put your feet on the handlebar and swing it side to side and it magically scoots forward (you can do this with a skateboard, too.)

I had one of these when I was younger and loved it. My parents still have it and when it's warm outside I usually get it out and give it a go.
