It's it totally groovy!?

HANDMADE

After knitting a striped hat for myself a few months ago, I decided I wanted a striped scarf. So, I cast on a few stitches and started knitting a 2x2 ribbed scarf:

January through March is my busiest time of year. I needed a project that I could knit and not have to think about. You can see above that I accidentally knit four rows of gray. I decided to leave it because it reminds me that the scarf is handmade.

ARTSY FARTSY

I've been taking lots of artsy fartsy photos with my iPhone lately.

JOURNALS

I've tried to start visual journals a few times, each time letting it go by the wayside. I think because it requires me to go someplace, sit, pull out a bunch of materials and tools, then put it all together. One of the many reasons I love knitting is its portability.

Anyway, when I discovered the Hugo Warner posters a few days ago, I also found his travel journals...

HUGO WARNER POSTERS

You've seen collage on my blog before, so you know I love it. I'm learning that I am a sucker for eye candy... I'm a visual person and seeing something that's visually interesting excites me.

Anyway, I came across these posters by Brazilian graphic designer Hugo Warner, and wanted to share:

As a graphic designer, I've always been jealous of anyone who can take traditional fine art technique, such as collage, and combine it seamlessly with graphic design. Sitting at a computer all day, cranking out stuff for a large institution, I've forgotten the link between fine art and graphic design. Thanks, Hugo, for reminding me.

I knit a cabled hat for a friend a few months ago. I wanted one for myself, so I whipped this up about a month ago:

It's sunny and 70 degrees (21 celsius) here, so I am not sure I will be wearing it much longer... Something to look forward to next autumn!

I've always been a sucker for anything that's bold and graphic. Take a look at their other pillows, which conform to the standard IKEA sizes... how Euro of them.
