OK, I promise this is the last post (for a while) about Blake's new condo... He shot some photos this morning and I had to share a few of them with you...

We made two trips to IKEA to purchase the shelving system that's holding all his architecture and interior design books. He was so excited to get the shelving project finished.
There's plenty of more to do, as you can see, so I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot more photos in the future...
I was feeling crafty, so I decided to make some gifts for my coworkers...

I saved some paper from the office laser machine, had our print shop fold them in half, glued some thrifted bed sheets to chipboard, then had them spiral bound to create an earth-friendly notebook. I loved how they turned out, and the recipients loved them. I can't take credit for this idea, since I saw it on one of those famous blogs... Apartment Therapy, Design*Sponge, or one of those.
I also was feeling creative when I wrapped the gifts I gave to my niece and nephews. I spelled out their names using origami paper, glueing the letters to the wrapping paper. It was a lot of fun.

I usually knit some Christmas gifts each year. Of course, they are usually smaller accessories, like hats and scarves.
This year I decided to knit a cashmere/wool hat for my brother, since he asked for one to replace another one I crocheted for him a few years ago.

I also knitted a cabled hat to match the scarf I knitted for my friend Christopher. I really like the way it turned out. In fact, I think I am going to knit one for myself in gray.
A few years ago, my dad made me this manger scene. I like it 1) because he made it, and 2) it's modern, fits the decor of my apartment, and isn't like all those other over-the-top manager scenes that look like a Hummel figurine explosion.

Oh, and it's always fun trying to put the pieces back together after Christmas.

It's an old public school that's now an arts center.
Since my schedule has temporarily opened up, I have had the time to go on buying trips to restock Kitsch Café. I have found some really great items, like this small yellow Pyrex bowl and these pair of folksy floral dishes...
