I was recently sent an email by a man also named Drew, who exclaimed, "Why don't I know you!?" The furniture and industrial designer and his wife had moved to Cincinnati from Philadelphia, bought an old brake shop in a local working class neighborhood and started renovating. Drew chronicled the process on his blog, 1923 Mills Avenue.
The finished house is wonderful and makes me really jealous. It's industrial mixed with mid-century modern and thrift store aesthetic is right up my alley. And, it has quirky details which I heart.
See more at Drew's blog.
This is fantastic. I used to live on Courtland Ave. back in '02
Truly awesome work they've done.
