Excellent thrift finds! I've found that when I buy a thrifted afghan, it's usually made of acrylic yarn. After washing the afghan, I then re-wash, using a capful of fabric softener (no soap) in the wash. This works like a dream to soften up all that crunchy acyrilc yarn!

Love the afghans.
So nice to see someone rescuing them. It's also nice that someone had the presence of mind to not just throw them away, so they could be rescued.
