EXCITEMENT
I am so excited... Ohio's first IKEA (and the only one for several hundred miles) opens in 12 days... and it's only 15 minutes north of me!!! I've driven to Chicago and Pittsburgh just to shop at IKEA, so you can imagine how exciting this is for me.
This is something that has been brewing for years. There have been rumors that we were getting an IKEA but nothing was ever confirmed until about 2 years ago. It's a huge deal for the area since IKEA draws customers from a radius of hundreds of miles.

Above are my first planned purchases. I really want a new storage/wardrobe thingy for my craft stuff. The wire shelves I have now really aren't working. Putting everything behind closed doors will work much better.
Also going to buy a new table since my old one is now my work/craft table. Thinking about putting it in my living room since my dining room is now the studio.
Wish me luck battling the crowds that I am sure will be there the first few weeks.
oooh, you are going to have so much fun! an IKEA opened five minutes from where I work and as you can imagine it's been "dangerous." It's a great place to walk around at lunch to get some exercise during the cold winter months but how do all those things end up falling into my basket...!

Haven't been to an IKEA in a few years now, but I definitely love them. Have fun and don't spend too much!

oh man - i wish you luck and serious restraint. I love IKEA like a bad boy with a leather jacket and camaro....when the one near me opened I almost moved in. I can't tell you how much I spent there in the first month. Good luck!

That's awesome! I was just at the one in Atlanta a few days ago. I'm about to move and am really looking for a city that has one.

hi,
so funny, here in germany it is just usual to have IKEA right next to every bigger city ;)
most of the people try to avoid shopping furniture from IKEA, but althoug most of them are shopping there, because it's always low priced. and always you bought something and you have a mess with building up, everybody just says with a smile: "IKEA, eh??"
greetings from düsseldorf, which has got 2 IKEAS, eva
