I can totally relate to wanting to know more about garment construction. And what better way to learn than with a pretty cowl neck sweater!

mari

I love this sweater, and just bought the yarn. But, I'm a little new to crochet. Can you help me with 2 questions?
-This feels silly, but I cannot understand how the gauge listed does not include the number of rows?!
-I'm having trouble figuring out how to stitch into the back loop as it suggests, Think it will make a difference if I just use the top loops?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

not easy to find good crochet patterns for garments, don't you think? this one seems really really cool. maybe i try to make one for myself. what yarn are you using?
happy new year by the way.

That sweater is bitchin. I might have to make one myself. And then give it away, of course.

i love the look of that sweater. very fifties. it is amazing how crochet can look like brioche stitch. yes i have made a promise of learning something new which each object i knit, too. it is a great way to learn a lot of techniques and stuff. i almost never use patterns (only directions) and this way it keeps getting better.
