THRIFTY GOODNESS

I went thrifting today and found some great stuff. The first place I went was a bust. But the second and third places were goldmines.

I found some more pieces for my bad art collection. The print with the Japanese bottles is wonderfully mod. And I love the two on the right... they're embroidered.

I collect tumblers with graphic prints on them. I found these as well as the psychedelic owl coin bank.

I also found these cool linens. I think in stead of cutting them up and using them as fabric, I am going to actually use them as linens. They'd look great on my bed all mixed up with other crazy patterns, just like Lisa's bed.

INSPIRATION

I came across a few of these phrases on Chris's blog and liked what I read. I decided they would be a great hanging on the wall in my bathroom. I typed them up using Helvetica, the typeface du jour, printed them out and put them in these cool plastic frames.

Now, when I get out of the shower each morning, I can see what they have to say.

HEMPTASTIC

I started a new hat. This one using the hemp yarn I bought a few months ago...

It was going to go to a friend who has his birthday this week, but he's been a poop head lately. So, no hat for him. Instead, it's going to go to a friend of mine I will be seeing in NYC this weekend when I am there.

The hemp yarn is interesting. It's a bit rough, so I will need to wash the hat once I am finished. And the dye likes to come off on my fingers. Other than that, it's making a nice hat.

I took a roughly 2 mile walk tonight and came across this photo. It's great having a small camera to have with me at all times.

SATCHEL

After work tonight, I bought a new camera. I have been wanting a second camera to carry in my man bag. I always have a bag with me; I feel naked with out one. Most of my friends call it a "purse." HAHA.

I digress... Anyway, I have been wanting a smaller camera to carry so I can take photos of this and that. My mobile phone wasn't cutting it because the quality of the photos, while sometimes random and quirky, were sucky.

While the camera battery was charging, I decided to whip up a cute little satchel for protection...

I think it's pretty good for my first drawstring bag. I really didn't know how to make the opening for the drawstring. I figured it out, but I am sure there is a better and more proper way. But, I like it!

Can't wait to finish the sweater so I can take some photos and wear it to work (if it's cool enough.)

NAKED

I have been wanting to replace my FLOR carpet tiles (don't even get me started about those) but wasn't sure what I wanted to replace them with. But then I came across a photo in the new issue of Readymade which motivated me to get off my butt and pull up all the carpet tiles.

I SHOULD JUST SUBSCRIBE

I have too many magazines. The thing is, I only subscribe to Everyday Food, Dwell and Readymade. I should just give in and subscribe to all the other magazines I usually buy each month... Domino, Interweave Knits, Vogue Knitting and a ton of others. Anyway, they are starting to overflow on to places like the register cover...

REKNIT

The sleeve caps for the Deep V-neck have been reknit. The entire sweater is now blocking...

Can't wait to get it seamed, knit on the collar/neck and wear it to work!
