I finished knitting the deep v-neck sweater. I pinned it together tonight to see how it was going to fit...
I think the sleeves are too long, so I am going to rip them back to the past the cap to take out some length, then reknit the caps. I think it will be great once it's blocked, seamed and the neckband is knitted.
Found this cool pottery last weekend at a new, amazing local shop called High Street (some photos here). Pottery is going on the window sill...
When I was in Copenhagen, I came across a shop called "Kitsch Bitch." It was a knick-knack shop selling bad artwork and other superbly horrendous items.
I have recently decided to devote a wall of my dining room to bad art. I have been scouring thrift shops to find the perfect pieces. I found two more yesterday...
Not sure how many much "art" I will collect. But so far it's been fun.
My mother recently gave me a large envelope full of photos, report cards, and other misc. items from my childhood. In it I found the following Polaroid from the early 80s...
My family is sitting in my Aunt Lillian's convertible. I am sitting on my dad's lap, on the far right. I don't know what I like about it, other than the fact that it seems like such a classic photo. The photo was taken in Lancaster, PA, but it sort of feels like we should be in the Hamptons. Haha.
Anyway, it's now my favorite family photo. I will be finding a frame for it and finding it a permanent spot on the wall.
I told you the other day that I was making something for my mother for Mother's Day...
I created a scrapbook commemorating our trip to Paris. It's been 1.5 years since, but I guess later is better than never.
Besides the photos from the trip, I also included some pages of collage using paper and other ephemera I collected on the trip.
I am happy with the way it turned out and I think my mother liked it too.

When I was at my parents' for Easter, I came across this photo of my mother's family that I had never seen before...
It's from the 1950s. My mother is in the middle. She was maybe 18 years old in this photo.
I love that she is the only one smiling in this photo. She always sees the glass half full, which is one of the many things I love about her. I really try to do the same. I don't know if that's genetic or something I learned from her. But, thanks, mom!

It's also my sister's birthday. Happy Birthday, Georgia!
- It's Friday, and unlike last weekend, I don't really have anything planned for this weekend. Which, after last weekend's craziness, is fine by me.
- I just got back from a long lunch with Gillian and Audrey. We had Thai food, and then stopped at the conservatory to check out the tropical plants.
- It's a coworker's birthday today, which means I get cake, or some other desert type food, in about 45 minutes. Yum.
- Looking forward to having the time to sew and knit this weekend. Also working on a surprise for my mother. Which, will remain a surprise until after I gift it to her on Sunday because she frequently checks my blog. All you crafty people will like it... photos to come.
- The weekend is supposed to be sunny and in the 70s (20-26 Celsius). Can't wait to take some walks around the neighborhood, picnic and open the windows at night.

Recently, I was in a shop that sells all things hemp related. I have been wanting to knit something with hemp yarn so I was happy when I found some in the shop.
It's not very soft, but I think maybe I could soak the knitted hemp yarn in some sort of bath to soften it. As for what to make, I think I will make some hats for friends.
5 Things I love about today:
- It's Friday and I have a full weekend to look forward to... Bowling tonight with my friend Roger, lunch tomorrow with my friend Jamie who is going to help me redecorate my apartment, Jay's birthday AND Eric's graduation party tomorrow night, and a cook-out with my brother on Sunday.
- I am pleasantly busy at work.
- Last week, we started the new season with the kids at Milford. I am in a good mood this morning because we had a great rehearsal last night. The kids are excited and are ready to take that next step towards our goal of being nationally competitive. It's exciting and fun to work with teenagers who are that motivated.
- Even though I am not supposed to, I am wearing jeans to work.
- Not ashamed to admit that I just ate a donut... it was deeee-lish.
