I was feeling creative today, so I grabbed some of my thrifted bedsheets, used Super Eggplant's "tote bag 101" tutorial and made this...
This was my first attempt at a tote bag. I am happy with the way it turned out. The lining scared me but turned out to be easy.
I think I will make a few more, maybe to use as grocery tote bags.

I had to have a tutor to get through high school algebra. My brain doesn't work that way. I am obviously a visual person. So, it's not a surprise that this is how I keep track of my knitting...
I make a column for knit and a column for purl, then write the number of each row. When I complete that row I cross it off. Any number that is circled is a decrease or increase. These little pieces of paper are all over my apartment which can be annoying. At least I don't have to hire a tutor anymore.
I finished the back of the deep v-neck sweater last week...
Halfway through both sleeves right now. Update soon.
I love Alexander Girard's illustrations. In fact, some of you may remember I used them as Christmas tree ornaments a few years ago...

This is why I haven't been knitting much the past two months...
...The high school color guard that I teach was finishing up the winter season. We had what is sort of the equivalent of state championships yesterday, where they won their class/division. It was a great day and I was very proud of the kids. They are very young (only one of them is graduating this June) and what they achieved this season was amazing.
As much as I love teaching, I now get a small amount of time off. Which means back to something else I love... knitting.
