ANDY

For the first 17 years of my life, I was known as Andy and not Drew. At some point during high school some of my friends started calling me Drew and it stuck.

Anyway, when I was at my parents house for Christmas, I came across this old Raggedy Andy doll that one of my mother's friends made me circa 1980.

I can remember only mildly liking the Raggedy Andy at the time, thinking I was too old to have a doll, but too young to appreciate the handwork that went into sewing it. I generally don't like the idea of coveting objects/stuff, but this is one from my childhood I am glad I have. By the way, my family still calls me Andy.

OOPS!

So, over a year ago, I started a Shedir. It was spur-of-the-moment, I'm sure, since I really didn't even blog about it. When I was packing for my trip to London last month, I needed a project to keep me busy on the plane rides, so I grabbed the Shedir.

Fast forward to me sitting on the plane (which was half full, by the way; I had two seats to myself.) I pulled it out of the bag to start working and noticed that it had faded in the sun while sitting next to the window. OOPS.

I suppose I could have freaked out and decided to rip the hat. But, I decided to keep working on it. Maybe I can let it sit in the sun some more and fade evenly. haha.

IT WORKED!

I just finished adding length to the Thomas hat and it turned out pretty well...

I cut the cast on edge, unraveled it, put the live stitches on the needle and started knitting. I changed to 1 x 1 ribbing because the stitches looked a bit weird, almost like the rows of ribbing weren't lining up. I think it turned out pretty well. I think Thomas will like it!

I HATE MATH

I hate math, but I love these flash cards I found at a thrift shop the other day...

IT'S A BLOCKING FRENZY AROUND HERE

I finished knitting the Bert and Ernie raglan a few weeks ago, but the pieces have been sitting on the blocking board waiting for me to get to them. The blocking board was also being held up by the cropped cardigan. It's like some blockingfest around here or something.

I don't know when I am going to find the time to get this seamed up. I need to get to the Thomas hat and add some length as well as finally getting off my butt and finishing the Shedir hat I started a year ago.

I am also working on a top secret project that I can't tell any of you about. Unfortunately, you all will have to wait several months, or longer, to find out what it is. It is all very exciting to say the least.

BUTTONS OR BADGES?

Got these cool buttons at Paperchase in London. Planning on putting them on my denim jacket and on some of my bags...

ANOTHER QUICK KNIT

Cast on a billion stitches and knitted this scarf longways in garter stitch. Knit in two hours with the Gedifra yarn I bought in LA...
