THRIFT SHOP THERAPY

I know I said I wouldn't be around for a few weeks, but I guess I just missed all of you so much I couldn't stay away any longer.

Things are going fairly well, considering. Today I treated myself to some thrift shopping and besides a cool red, green and cream plaid wool shirt jacket and some mod brown pants, I scored these...

For those that might now know, "sun tea" refers to iced tea... you put the tea bags in the jar and sit it in the sun. The sun heats the water and the tea bags do their thing, then you chill it. I just liked the mod artwork and the orange lid. The green pitcher is plastic and the fabric is a pillow case .

This is probably one of the better finds for me in the 15 years i have been going to thrift shops. I really don't know what to do with them. Should I cut it up and make it into something über kuhl? Or try to sell it on Ebay? Any ideas?

Anyway, I'm back, y'all.

LITTLE BREAK

I wanted to let all of you know that I will be taking a brief hiatus from my blogging. Other than the fact that I am busy with work and teaching, I just went through a break-up.

A LOOK INSIDE

The end of July and the beginning of August is the busiest time of year for me. Not only is it crazy at work getting ready for the new school year, it's also time for band camp...

HAHA, laugh all you want, but for four weeks we have rehearsals up to 50 hours a week trying to get 160 kids to learn the 8 minute show they will perform all autumn. So, there is a lot of work to do behind the scenes as well as taking off of work to be in 90 (30) degree heat all day at the school. Doesn't leave much time for knitting.

But I know how all of you get... all ravenous and crazy for more knit-o-rama goodness... So, after being inspired by Amelia, I decided to show you the contents of my knit kit... not the most thrilling blog post, but hey, it's something. Enjoy...
