I just finsished my 1st sock too ! Like 4 days ago. I tinkered w the pattern, and it came out different, and to loose. (used a 4x4 ribbing - not a 2x2 as stated) made a big difference! But it will always be my 1st sock! Now, I can make a whole pair, and understand what to do with Gussets, Heels, etc! I even have my future sister in law on my only #5 dpns upstairs RIGHT NOW, starting HER first sock! Man, ...mom never told me socks were cool! LOL

Nicole

YOU are slave to the sock, don't forget it :P

Delica

Hi - I want to learn how to make socks too. Can you share the pattern on which you are learning from? TY

Lucy

Now you have to get this book I just picked up and made several pair of socks from.

Knitting Vintage Socks by Nancy Bush

Jason

It looks nice! Are you following any particular pattern?

yahaira

Jon

Can't wait to see that modeled on your foot!

I've only recently finished my first pair of socks and I can totally relate. It's like the skies open up, angels sing, and a giant light bulb pops up over your head. "OOOHH!! So that's what all the hubbub is about!"

Yep, you never forget your first. Did you go through that moment of "This is crazy, this is never gonaa work!" when you first got to the heel? Man, now I'm itching to start another pair . . .

Dave

No, no ... we don't tell people socks are addictive ... we wait till they're hooked and then mention it very casually, "Oh, by the way ..." LOL It's looking good!
