Last night, around 10pm, I decided I was going to make some super cool Wonder Woman wristband/bracelet/cuff things...
I am still figuring them out, but the first two didn't turn out too bad. I made these using Velcro, although I think I will try the next few with snaps. I think Wonder Woman would be proud.
This afternoon I sewed the quilt squares to form the top of the quilt.
The squares weren't all even, so you can see that it doesn't want to lay flat. But, hey, it's my first quilt, so sue me.
The next step is to sandwich the top, the batting and the bottom together. I have chosen a yellow for the back. I think the trim is going to be pink, but I am not sure...
It's that time of year when I have to think about what my kids are going to wear.... That is, the kids I teach. Their costumes usually take approximately two months to construct. We usually need them the first half of September. With alterations and changes adding another two to three weeks, I need to have them ordered by the first week in June.
So, the company creating them sent me a pack of fabrics and I have been agonizing over them all weekend. It's usually a process that takes me a few weeks because I start second guessing myself. The current favorites are....
I will definitely let you all see the final results once they start performing in September. You'll just have to be patient until then.
A few days ago I turned the heel of my first pair of socks...
...You people should have told me this sock knitting thing was addictive.
I was cleaning today and I made myself clean the dining room, A.K.A. Martha's craft room. I came across these plastic photo frames that have magnets on the back.
So I grabbed the box full of cool bits of paper that all of us artsy craftsy people have, got out the Fiskars rotary cutter, and cut some paper to put in the photo frames.
I think they turned out really well. I think I am going to give them to my coworkers to dress up our plain Jane metal desks.
I have finished sewing all the squares for the baby quilt. I wasn't sure about my color choices but seeing all the squares together makes me less anxious.
A lot still to do before this Saturday, but I think it's achievable.
