CROP TOP

Ok, I know I said in my last post that I don't knit fast. I don't, honest. But this cropped cardigan from the latest Vogue Knitting is going at lighting speed on size US11 needles with chunky yarn.

I am going to have to block the hell out of this one.

I knitted what you see above in about 4 hours. That's a record for me. Maybe I am getting faster at knitting... hmmmm.

I did restart this project after getting past the start of the raglan shaping and discovering I didn't like how the bigger cable pattern ended into the raglan edge. So, I added three stockinette stitches on both ends of each row and took out the first and last cable.

I am excited to get through this project. I will be taking a road trip tomorrow, so that means plenty of knit-time in the car... OH YEEEAAAHHHHH......

It's taking me forever, but I am slowly getting through Raspy. The sleeves are finally finished...

These things are pretty huge

Unlike other people, I don't knit at 100 mph. And knitting two sleeves at once takes time. I have already begun the front, but don't expect it to be finished anytime soon...

Yarn: Cork
Size: Medium (36 bust)
Needles: US10.5 and US11

This was my first cable pattern and I really enjoyed it. I also really like using the Rowan Cork and I am pretty upset that it's discontinued.

Overall this pattern was great. I did have to start over twice because first, I messed up the pattern and second, I was having trouble with giant holes under my increases. After I figured that all out it went pretty quickly.

There was also some funky thing going on with the armhole edging. I gave up trying to figure out the pattern and just used a simple i-cord edging.

This is the lobby in the building where we work.

I started this pattern in January, but put it down for several months because of the issues above. I picked it back up after doing some research on increases and it went pretty fast. So I guess total knitting time was maybe 2 months.

I would knit this again. And the best part is Ms. Girlfriend above looks FANTASTIC wearing it. And on top of that she loves it! Score one for me.
