GOIN' BACK TO CALI, TO CALI...

Hey Kids! Dan and I are traveling to California for 9 days starting on Saturday. I won't be home until May 30th so you will all have to wait until then to get your Drew on.

We will be in LA, then Monterey/Carmel and finally San Francisco/Oakland. If any of you have any suggestions on yarn shops in those areas feel free to leave a comment for me. Y'all know I will be stopping by ArtFibres in SF, uh huh! Other than that I am not sure.

I will have plenty of photos for you when I return, as well as some actual knitting content. I just finished the front and back of a Debbie Bliss designed raglan sweater for my yet-to-be-named nephew who should be popping out in the next few days. Plus, I am sure there will be plenty of Raspy knitting on the 4+ hour plane rides.

IT'S TOO NICE TO STAY INSIDE...

...so I thought I would sit at the dining room table and start seaming my sister's sweater, aka, that boat-neck thing that used to be a funnel-neck thing.

I have the shoulders seamed and part of one sleeve. It's going fairly well so far, but I seem to be taking a lot of breaks. Including one to make cookies.

Dan and I really don't need to be eating cookies, but I was in the mood to bake. So out came the sugar, butter, eggs...

Ooo, ooo, ooo... I also started knitting Raspy from Rowan's Denim People book. I heart Kim Hargeaves. She is by far the best designer Rowan had. I am excited to see where she is going to go on her own.

I'm knitting this sweater for myself. I'm making the largest size, taking out the waist shaping and plan to make the neck a little higher. I am also taking out most of the dropped stitches since they scare me.

So far the ecru Denim isn't that bad to knit with. I have used the darker blues before and it's like knitting with twine.

Oh well, I guess I should go outside now. It's sunny and 75 degrees (22.5 celsius). Dan and I are meeting our friend Jay at a restaurant with outdoor seating before going to a play. Ciao!
