HELP!

I want to make this...

and I can't make heads or tails of the instructions. Here are the instructions:

Font and Back: work sweater in rounds. Position 1P st. at center of each panel, so always start each round/row as given! Cast on 60 sts. and work in rib patt, starting round with K1. When work measures 34 cm, after 27 rounds, shape armholes as foll: from start of round bind off 3, 25 sts. in patt, bind off 5, 25 sts. in patt, bind off 2. Start and end all pieces with P1. Slip all sts. onto a holder.

There is also a chart that is named "Raglan decreases, size 92/97cm." Could somebody tell me what all this says in normal knitting instructions? Do I have to work this in rounds? Can't I just use straights?

In case you haven't figured it out, this pattern is from Rebecca, #19. I am going to be using the yarn I used for the big blue sweater, only I am going to be holding two strands together and using size US35/20mm needles! I seems like a nice sweater, if only I could decipher the strange pattern.

Anyway, It's Good Friday and I am off of work- one of the few benefits of working for a Catholic institution. I am going to do some knitting, and then go to my LYS to inquire about the increases/holes in Moll, and then buy some yarn to make scarves for friends I am going to see when Dan and I go to California in May. WAY BUSY

Hey kids. Sorry I haven't posted for a while. I have been extremely busy the past few weeks and haven't knitted very much. Work is pretty hectic, I was sick with a fever last week, and the high school group I teach is in the middle of winter guard season. Nonetheless, here are updates to some of the knitting related projects I have been working on...

- I have the two sleeves started for my 1x1 Ribbed Raglan. The instructions asked me to knit them with DPNs. I tried and that didn't go very far. So I thought I could just knit them flat, stop at the underarm, join them to the body and continue knitting from there. Well, that didn't work. So now my options are, 1) figure out how to continue knitting them flat and seam them later, or 2) go back, rip out a few rows, reknit them with DPNs and follow the instructions from there. I don't know what I am going to do, so I just put it off to the side for now.

- I am about 75% through the front of the ChicKami. It's pretty funny, because I started this project almost a year ago. I altered the pattern to make it work on straights, and now I have switched to circs. So I could have gone totally tubular, but that boat has sailed.

- All the pieces to the Funky Fun Funnelneck Now a Boatneck have been knitted and blocked. I just need to find the time to sit and seam them. I can't wait to see how my sister looks in this sweater. My goal is to have it finished for her 40th birthday in May.

- I haven't touched Moll since the last post I wrote about her. My plan is to take her into the LYS where I bought the yarn and ask about the increase/hole issue. The shop owner is pretty knowledgeable and should be able to help me. My Saturdays have been totally taken up with the high school group that I teach that I haven't had time to stop by.

Inspired by Alison, I decided to rip it out. I had to be honest with myself, I wasn't going to wear it. It was big, it was bulky and it didn't fit me well. So I ripped, and ripped and ripped. And now I have a bunch of balls of blue yarn. What am I going to make with this reclaimed yarn, you ask? I have begun swatching for a sweater inspired by "Bam 13" in the new Stitch 'n Bitch. Something whith a huge gauge that's net-like.

I also want to say congrats to my friend Jay who won Project Runway! I was pretty sure that he was going to be in the final three, but wasn't sure he was going to win. But when I saw his runway show I knew. Did you notice all the knitted and crocheted items? I love the turquise cardigan with the huge collar as well as the huge scarf. Go Jay!
