Check it out... it's going to be a white Christmas!*

It started snowing during the night and isn't supposed to stop until tomorrow evening. We are expecting 16 inches (40cm)! The university where I work sent us home today at 2pm and I am hoping it will be closed tomorrow. SNOW DAY!! And you all know what that means... plenty of sit-around-on-my-ass-and-knit time...
...Time to work on the Skull Sweater. I have to admit, I am a bit behind on the Skull Sweater. It will be finished by the end of the MAN-ALONG, however. I held the finished pieces up to Dan the other night and noticed the sleeves where too short! So, I ripped them out back to the start of the caps and am in process of adding three inches to them. I have already finished one and will start the next one this evening.

I haven't waited until today to get into a festive Christmas mood, however. A few days ago I crocheted these cool beanie-type hats as gifts for my two brothers. The pattern is from the fall Interweave Knits Crochet magazine. The stripey beanie is made using Lion Brand Kool Wool and the brown is made using the llama yarn I brought back from Buenos Aires. The llama yarn freaked me out a little because it felt like I was crocheting with human hair. This hat is going to my brother who lives in Buenos Aires- I thought it fitting to use the llama yarn.

Speaking of Christmas gifts, while I was Argentina I found these cool dolls for my niece. Bueno! They were discovered in a way hip part of the city called Plaza Serrano. The shop was called "Calma Chicha." I found this to be some sort of sign since my brother and his wife have nicknamed their daughter "chickie."
And with that, I am off. Have a great holiday season, everybody!
*This is the view from my apartment. You can see the few leftover Christmas trees in the front yard of the 150 year-old church across the street. They were selling them as a fundraiser.
Happy holidays, Drew! I hope you are having a great time!
P.S. You just know I love those Calma Chica dolls, don't you?
