So, some of you may remember I am knitting a skull vest for Dan. You know, it's what I'm knitting for the MAN-ALONG. "Oh yeah," you all collectively say. "I remember that." Well, I haven't knitted a stitch for about two weeks. Here is photo to show you where I was two weeks ago before putting it away for the party. (It's a lot bigger than it looks. The piece of paper is 11 x 17 inches.)

You can see I have just started the skull. My first attempt at intarsia is going fairly well. I am having some difficulty "locking" the stitches when I change colors, so there is a big gap between the two stiches until I come back over with the next row. But, other than that, all is fine.
Alas, poor Yorick. I knit him, Horatio.

That's going to be a really fun sweater. Very cool! When I was in LA last month skulls were everywhere. Everywhere you look...skulls...on tee's, purses, socks...everything!
I started my son a sweater last year. Would I be able to join the Man Along? Maybe it would give me the incentive to finish up this much forgotton sweater! :-)

The sweater is looking great! Here's an idea to help with the intarsia:
I was taught in a color knitting class to always pick up the new color under the old color, then start knitting or purling. In other words, knit in blue, when you get to the skull drop the blue and pick up the white so that it goes under the blue and over to the left, then knit with it. The same goes on the purl side.

I'm gonna make the skull for my teen for Christmas. :-) She'll love it! I can't wait to see what yours looks like as I suspect you'll finish WAY before I do!
