Hey everybody, look! It's Drew wearing something he finished! The photo above is the serious I'm-trying-to-be-a-model shot. Don't worry, I have a fun side.
To celebrate Labor Day (um, yeah right), Dan and I went to a 150 year-old local cemetery to shoot some photos of me wearing the Big Blue Sweater. We took our lunch and sat on the grass next to several large head stones. Afterwards, we took a stroll and came across a huge mausoleum that looked like a gothic cathedral. The thing was monstrous and fairly gaudy, although strangly cool.
About the sweater... I used Lion Brand Thick & Quick in the Denim color, and honkin' US13 needles. The pattern came from Ann Budd's The Knitter's Handy Book of Patterns. By the way, I just bought The Knitter's Handy Book of Sweater Patterns which I am really excited about. I think the Skull Vest for Dan is going to come from this book. Anyway, I don't think I will use this yarn again to make a sweater. It's very thick and very heavy (it was 85 degrees today - I only had it on to pose for the photos). Also, the sleeves are very full, I wish they were not as bulky. Overall, the sweater is nice. I don't think I will wear it out much, but it will be nice to wear on cold days around the apartment.
Another finished project! Take that, Mom! Just kidding...
hey.. the sweeter is really cute and it fits you well!! so you are fond of knitting??

nice sweater..it looks fine on you--you should wear it out--when it gets colder..I want to knit my hubby a vest --maybe I will join the man-along

Hey everybody. Thanks for all the nice comments about coookie monster. I really appreciate it.
And for those of you who want to join the MAN-ALONG but do not have a man to knit for... Why don't you still use a man's pattern, but knit the sweater for yourselves? No one ever said you couldn't wear men's clothing...

Color me pleased about your cookie monster sweater. Anything named after a muppet, even the sesame street variety, must be great!
I'm sad I can't join the man-along. My man hates sweaters and forbade me to knit anything for him. Oh, well, looks like more for me...
I'll be along with you guys in spirit, though. Nice site.

Hi Drew! I found you through a certain whack dancer, and your site is really excellent. Great job on the cookie monster, your man must love that modeling shot.
My man is tres finicky when it comes to sweaters - everything I have picked out for this fall he has vetoed. If I find another man to knit for, I'll join the Man-a-long ;-)

The sweater is great, i really should take up knitting one of these days. But better yet is that cemetery shot. Not enough people can enjoy a quiet picnic in the graveyard.

! You and your sweater are delightful. Great work.

Hey, just found you via Becky. Love the blog, love that sweater! Yay, something else to read and distract me from work. (I'm a graphic designer too!)

great sweater and love those pics!

Very snazzy modelling debut. I will be manning-along as soon as we get settled into DC next month. Moxie will be very pleased that you instigated the manly knitting, as it has been a girl-fest around here.

The sweater looks great, as do all the photos. You should get get props for wearing wearing that heavy sweater in 85 degree weather for sure! I bet it will keep you very warm this winter.

Huzzah huzzah! AWESOME sweater, AWESOME shots. My favorite is - surprise! - the fun shot. The eyeglasses photo gives it competition, though. Congrats on a beautifully done sweater and a wonderful photo shoot. I bet your Mom is proud :-)
