Sorry, everybody, for not posting for a while. I have been super busy the past week. And on top of that, I was in a fender-bender and have had to deal with insurance, estimates, etc. My computer also decided to die last night, so I had to ship it off to Apple and won't have it back until next week.

Anyway, I have had time to work on the front of the Skull Vest for the MAN-ALONG. I knitted a few rows last night while watching the final Amazing Race! (By the way, I am so glad Chip and Kim won and not that jerk-face Colin and his spineless girlfriend Christy.) I was a bit nervous using such small yarn and using smaller needles, but it's not that bad. I have another three inches to go until I begin the skull pattern, which I am really excited about. My mother gave me some good tips about intarsia knitting... she used to knit argyle sweaters for my dad!
Skully Vest is looking good!
I've begin my husband's Manly Jacket! One sleeve down, one sleeve/one back piece/two front pieces to go. Plus, it's got a zipper. THE ZIPPER. A kir royal will be in order when I put in the zipper, mind you.
Thanks for hosting the knitalong. It's nice to have the knitting company. I think I'll actually have this done before Christmas for a change!

I've made barely any progress on my Felted Vest for the man-a-long... do you get Knitters? I fell in love with the Cape Point pattern - with AWESOME Manos Del Uruaguy yarn. Anyway - not only is that taking up knitting time - but it uses the same size needles as the vest (size 10 for me the get gauge) - so I actually stole the needles from the vest for the Cape.
Bad Cece. Hope you car (and yourself!) are OK after the fender bender.

Your skully vest looking great. I love the tweediness of the yarn. The cream specks will set off the skull really well! Can't wait to see it completed.
I decided to start with the sleeves of the basket weave pullover, but have only made a couple inches of progress. The pattern is interesting and am enjoying knitting it.
Hope everyone else is doing well with their Man-Along project!

I'm so glad they won too. I couldn't stand Brandon and Nicole either. Colin proposed to Christy this morning. I guess they belong with each other.

thanks, debbie! the photo above was shot on a batik blanket-sheet type thing that i got at urban outfitters. most of the other backgrounds i use are either random fabic samples or duvet covers from ikea.

I just wanted to tell you that I love the backgrounds for your pictures. You must have the most amazing collection of sheets or something.
Can't wait to see the makings of a yarn skull!

I am enjoying your blog. That Skull Vest is too cool for words. I can't wait to see how it turns out. I watched the end of Amazing race last night and am also so glad it was Chip & Kim that won out of the three teams left at the end. Colin and Kristy are so wacked, they were made for each other. My hubby and I have started saying qotes from Colin at random moments. Like we will shout "I'm Packing It!"
