Dear Phildar:
Oh, how I love thee. You truly are wonderful. I continually marvel at your ability to design and deliver the hippest of patterns and yarns. I particularly enjoy the "POP 60" portion of the Autumn 2004-05 Tendances. Who knew that mullet-wearing female models could be so fabulous?! Some may find your work a bit Eurotrashy. I, however, appreciate your willingness to place yourself on the edge
When my yarn arrived in a neatly packed envelope, I could barely contain myself. I ripped it open to find lovely Phil'laine and Oxygene in deep black and grey. Your yarns are extremely soft and luscious.

I can't wait to begin on Le Pull Col Tunisien (The Tunisian Collar Sweater) from the Phildar Hommes 2003-04 pattern book. I have even begun swatching for this tres cool sweater. Holding two strands of yarn together is new for me, but I like it so far.
Thank you again Phildar. You never cease to amaze me. I will keep you updated of my progress on Le Pull Col Tenisien.
Regards,
-mouse
Rachel- You can go to http://www.knitntyme.com/ to get Phildar pattern books en Anglais. Not all the books have English translations, but most do. I get my Phildar yarn from http://www.breiweb.nl, a yarn company in The Netherlands.

Forget the sweater, can we get the knitting pattern for that model?!?

God, that model in the pattern is hot! I have yet to knit anything from phildar but it's on the list.

I am totally hooked on Phildar. I don't even wait for the English translations to come out. It's amazing the linguistic skills you discover when knitting is involved. I blame Becky!

I too am obsessed with Phildar, but did not know that they had a US version of their site! I'm so pumped! I am even learning French in order to facilitate my become ever so Eurotrashy.
I was going to comment the other day when you were Beckified but it was late at night and I was so so tired...the jist of my comment was going to be "Hey! I'm a teacher too! I just went to a tech conference and heard all about the ins and outs of teachers who blog...It's a big topic amongst teacher educators 'cuz of all the ethics and legal ramifications, plus may not do our careers any favors, so let's count ourselves amongst the few, the proud, the stupid teachers who blog!! Therefore, your choice to remain anonymous is definitely a great thing. I choose to only write about knitting, but then again, I've only been doing this during summer break, so school life may creep in. I'm probably not as anonymous as I should be. Damn the honesty gene..."
There, that's better.

You'll make a Phildar convert out of me, yet! I'm currently obsessesed with koigu, but this love letter and accompanying photo may have done me in...

I have an old Pingouin book of men's classic sweaters. Frabtious designs! If you would like to have it, it's yours. email me with relevant data for mailing. Us old broads must incourage men in the manly arts. They are so far and few between.
