13 august // day 61 // london to brugges

LONDON TO BRUGGES
- I took an early EuroStar to Brussels, then a very full train to Brugges. I almost missed the train to Brugges.

BRUGGES
- I had a shared room at the hotel. I was leaving my room and down the hallway walked a guy named Brian who I had met at my hotel in Gimmelwald, Switzerland!
- After wondering around a bit, I sat and read.

12 august // day 60 // london, england

LONDON
- I headed to the Tate Modern since it had just opened.
- It was actually kind of hot.
- Explored Chelsea, Sloane Square and Kings Road.
- Ended the day checking out the Millennium Wheel and Southbank.

11 august // day 59 // london, england

LONDON
- More wondering around, just taking it all in, visiting my old haunts.
- I had a really great breakfast, but didn't write anything else about it in my journal.
- I stepped in something gross on Regents Street, but have no idea what it was. It was just all over my shoe. I had to try to clean my shoe as best I could with what I had on hand.
- SHOPPING!!!
- MUJI!!!
- I spent a large chunk of time sitting in Kensington Garden.

10 august // day 58 // amsterdam to london

AMSTERDAM TO LONDON
- I took the EuroStar train to London this morning, via Brussels. There was a French father and son sitting across from me and the kid barfed twice in a bag. Um, ewww.

LONDON
- I stayed at the YMCA in Barbican. They had single rooms for super cheap. It was really out of the way, but the price was good.
- It was really weird to see signs and hear English after two months of not hearing or seeing it anywhere.
- My ATM card stopped working and I had to call my bank from London. I got it worked out but it was a bit scary at first.
- I just walked around and took it all in. I lived and worked in London in 1996 and also studied there in 1998, so it was good to just wonder around my old haunts and see what had changed. It felt really good to be back.
- I ate a Mr. Wu's in Leicester Square... at the time is was all you could eat for £4.50. Chinese #12!!
